Kind, friendly incredibly intelligent and humble. She shared so many stories of her travels and work in Jordan. Her enthusiasm was inspiring, an unforgettable woman and friend. Ever grateful we met.

The world will truly be a little less vibrant with the passing of Dr. Marilyn Schaub. Marilyn was my professor of Biblical Archaeology at Duquesne University, and her passion for and expertise in the subject were quite evident in every class. Although I was never able to accompany Dr. Schaub on her digs in Syria, her many excellent slide photos brought those places to life for her students. Marilyn will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. My deepest condolences and prayers to the family.

Dear Family of Dr. Schaub:
Please accept my sympathy on the loss of Marilyn. Dr. Schaub stands out in my memory of Duquesne University Professors as being the best at educating; with a refined skill of stretching ones commonly held beliefs and supporting faith. When I think of those of us who were students in her classes: students who needed to fulfill a requirement for a theology course, religious sisters and those preparing for ordination, and those from so many varied Christian Traditions, Dr. Schaub had quite a challenge speaking effectively to such a diverse group. And yet she did it with great intelligence and grace! Over my 33 years of priesthood, I have quoted her on many occasions. May the God whom she loved and served bring her into loving arms forever and may you be comforted.
God bless you!
Fr. Jim
