I worked with Marion for a number of years at Westbrook Junior High School. What a fantastic lady who will always be remembered for her deep commitment to her students and her friendliness with staff.

It is hard to believe that 5 years have passed since Marion left us. In re-reading her obituary, there was one sentence that just said it all to me. "She was one of a kind". The joy of friends, the joy of just being with you, the joy she expressed when you walked through the door of her home, will always remain in my heart, as a lasting tribute to this great lady. Truly, she was one of a kind.

There are really no adequate words to describe the breadth, care and love of this most remarkable woman. I, and later my son's, came to know her as Aunt Marion, but for my wife, she became Mom, who provided her with strength, courage, wisdom and the will to carry on during her fight against cancer at an all too early age in life. For Carol, Marion was the Mom she so deeply cherished and for Marion, Carol was the daughter that she always would have wanted. The love between them was so palpable and real that it just shouted out with joy. Through my wife Carol, we came to know this amazing woman who forever indelibly marked our hearts. To have known and shared moments of life with her was truly a blessing for us. We will miss her dearly yet we know her spirit is carried on by Steve, Sam Jr., Andy, John and her grand children.

Marian will be remembered as a neighbor and for many years was a caregiver for my father who was in his 90's. Dad always enjoyed her visits and stays at our house while we were away. I also remember all her service and dedication at the Westbrook Warren UCC church. Thanks for the memories.

I did not know Marion personally. I knew of her and all her good works. I grew up hearing my mom & dad sing her praises. She became an example for us all to live by. She never knew that. She did what she did because it was the right thing to do. A very humble woman and a woman who when she saw a need, she filled it graciously.
My sympathies to all of you. Yvonne

Marion was a grand lady in the best sense of the word. She and Sam were pillars of Westbrook.. They remembered my parents, which meant a lot to me. I was amazed by her progressive thinking even later in life. Seeing Marion always brightened my day.

Marion was a remarkable woman. One of a kind! Besides the many things listed here was the fact that she was part of the Senior swimming and aquatics class which I shared with her. Her attitude about always being involved and never giving up kept her with us all for that 95 years. Prayers for her family as they know she is with God now.

Dear Steve, Sam, Andy, and John,
My sisters, Marjie and Marie, are saddened to hear of the death of your mother. Your entire family meant so much to our family over the years, but the relationship between your mother and my mother, Cherrie Kaifer, was especially strong and enduring. Over the last few years when I would visit your mother on my way to St. Albans, she would reminisce about the friendship they had and the times we were shared as families. Her presence will be missed.

My Dear Aunt Marion, You were such a treasure in our family that indeed made us all better people. A remarkable role model for myself and many others. The memories of our many interesting talks will carry me through a lifetime. I will miss seeing you but am so very Thankful and proud to have called you my AUNT. RIP! All my Love, Gail Libby Cailler

Ah, Marion, you were a very special lady! I remember meeting you for the first time on the old high school gym floor where a group of us were playing a little basketball after supper. You whizzed around like a young pup. Years later, after your retirement, I would see you walking the track at the high school. Thank you for your endless energy and interest in the youth of Westbrook. Rest well, my friend. Blessings to your family!
