CLINTON
Marion C. (Furphy) Cucchi, 96, died Thursday, July 8, 2021, in Leominster Hospital, after a brief illness. Her husband of 51 years, Quincy J. Cucchi, died in 1997.
She leaves four children: James M. Cucchi, with whom she lived, William V. Cucchi and his companion, Donna, of Leominster, formerly of Lancaster, Beverly A. Giansanti and her husband, Victor, of Clinton, and Joanne M. Dowd, and her husband, Sean, of Athol; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Somlak “Sam” Cucchi, who died in 2008, her sister, Eleanor O’Toole, who died in 2010, and her brother, Edward Furphy, who died in 2011.
Born and raised in Clinton, the daughter of Henry and Katherine (Fitzgerald) Furphy, she was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1942, and attended the former Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School, Worcester.
For 38 years until her retirement, she owned and operated the former C & W Taxi, Clinton, retiring in 1979.
A life-long member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Marion was a charter member and 1st President of the ITAM Post #68 Auxiliary, Clinton. In addition, she was a member of the Red Hat Society, and enjoyed traveling.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the McNally & Watson Funeral Home on Monday, July 12, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services and burial in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster, are private. In lieu of flowers, the Cucchi family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. John’s Restoration Fund, 149 Chestnut St., Clinton, MA 01510, or Clinton Hospital, 201 Highland St., Clinton, MA 01510.

So sorry to hear of your Moms passing, she was a wonderful woman. We knew her for many years.One of my Sons was taxied by your Mom to pre school. He loved her so much. We gave her a piggy bank for her retirement.we will always remember Mrs. Cucchi.
