Marion Christine Harris Haynes Mrs. Marion Christine Harris Haynes, 72, of 2380 Chandler Mill Road, Pelham, North Carolina, died on Friday, August 17, 2013, at Danville Regional Medical Center in Danville, Virginia. Mrs. Haynes was born on July 10, 1941, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, to the late Markey Calvin Chumley and Virginia Mae Wilson. Mrs. Haynes worked as a weaver at Dan River Textiles. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Post 1097. Mrs. Haynes is survived by her husband, Claude L. Haynes of the home; three sons, Mark Harris and wife, Jan, James Calvin Harris and Daryl Keith Harris, all of Danville; four step-children, three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Helen Wilkerson and husband, Darrell, and Elizabeth Turner; special friend, Toni Adams; and special child, Mary Walker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by a son, Radford Raye Harris; two step children; and two sisters. The family will receive friends in the Barker Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, August 19, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m., and other times at the home of Mrs. Haynes' husband, 2380 Chandler Mill Road, Pelham, North Carolina. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday August 20, 2013, at Barker Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Jerry Hobbs officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Danville, Virginia. Barker Funeral Services is respectfully serving the Haynes family.
