Marissa Freeman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 23, 2024.
Marissa Danielle Freeman, aged 29, was tragically taken from us too soon July 20, 2024, in Many, Louisiana, the victim of a senseless act of rage and hate. Born on September 7, 1994, in Deridder, Louisiana, Marissa was a person of great integrity and kindness, whose presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew her.

She attended Negreet High School, where she began to cultivate her diverse interests. Marissa will be remembered for her sincerity and the ease with which she drew people into her circle of friendship. Her life was characterized by her straightforwardness and the love she generously extended to those around her.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Cayleigh Freeman; her loving mother, Tammy Freeman; her father, Charles Tilmon; Step Father Emeritous, Clifton Wysinger; her devoted sisters, Dominique Wysinger and Terrica Epps; her brother, Kedrian Tilmon; her aunts, Joannie Matthews (and her husband, Scott), Lisa Freeman-Matthews, and Patricia Bounds; her uncle, Jimmy Freeman; her maternal grandmother, Audrey Freeman; her uncle, Bobby Clay (and his wife, Adrian); and numerous cousins, relatives, and dear friends. Marissa was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Jimmie Freeman.

Marissa's interests were many and varied, encompassing reading, fishing, and music, alongside her love for shopping, anime, and her pets. Her collection of plushies was a testament to her playful spirit. In the tranquility of nature, she found her greatest peace while fishing, a pastime that reflected her serene soul.

Kings Chapel A.M.E. Church in Many, Louisiana, will oversee the arrangements for Marissa's memorial service. Her gentle spirit, heartfelt generosity, and loving nature will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Marissa wasn't a saint but she had a heart of gold, she would give her all to do what she could for anybody if they needed it. She didn't deserve such a tragic death, she honestly thought this man loved her. She's not suffering anymore and she will find the love and answers she always sought in the arms of God now. May she rest in peace.
