BRONFMAN, Marjorie
Peacefully at home, on Friday, February 24, 2012. A leader of the Montreal community who gave of herself to both Jewish and non-Jewish organizations. She was a recipient of many awards for her philanthropy including the Order of Canada and an honorary doctorate from McGill University. Wife of the late Gerald Bronfman. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Joanie Bronfman (Neal McMilllan), Corinne Bronfman, Judy Bronfman-Thau and Isaac Thau, Jeffrey Bronfman (Stacey). Loving grandmother of Elana Thau, Jonathan Thau; David Bronfman. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Grace and the late Cyrus Rubin, Betty Jane and the late Edward Schechter, and sister-in- law of the late Rona and the late Irving Levitt, the late Allan and the late Freda Bronfman. Marjorie will be sadly mourned by her extended family and friends. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Monday, February 27 at 12 noon. Burial at Congregation Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery, 1250 ch. de la Forêt. Shiva at her home through Tuesday evening.

Dear Coriinne, please accept my condolences to you and your family. Your mother was very kind to me when I moved to Montreal. She was an elegant and sophisticated woman and I remember her with fondness. Lillian Heidenberg Reitman

It is with great sadness that we have heard of the passing of Mrs. Bronfman.

Mrs. Bronfman's personal commitment to the community and its varied constituents are a source of inspiration for us all.

She will be greatly missed, but her legacy will live on with pride and elegance.
