I had the great pleasure of learning from Mrs. Day during my freshman year at Everett Community College in 1982-83. I well remember the warmth and excitement she brought to her excellent teaching. There was joy in her eyes, and she had a way of making you feel special. I remember it well, and fondly, nearly four decades later. God bless you, Mrs. Day.

Marjorie Day . . . Mrs Day . . . is there yet any way to thank you for all you did, not only for me but for so many others? Can any of us forget, ever, your gentle and quick wit, your compassion and patience, and your smile? You opened doors for us. So many doors. You gave us the courage, by example, to go forward into what we thought was uncharted ground. In a way, it was, but you guided us, so gently and with the quiet force that will define you, always.
Tnank you, Mrs Day. Thank you, Marjorie.
With love, gentle lady.

I will miss this beautiful person so very much. She was always "there" for Rus. They were always, always pleasant and helpful. Carry on Rus.

Mrs Day was my favorite instructor at Everett Community College in the late '60s. She made literature come alive and she was beautiful and vibrant inside and out. Every day I could hardly wait to hear and enjoy her lectures. And I had to see what fabulous ensemble she was wearing. I can still see her big smile and feel her welcoming presence in the lecture room. Marjorie Day ALWAYS played to a full house.

Mrs. Day was so engaging. Many students who thought they didn't like literature changed their minds. She introduced us to the subtleties of characters and showed us how to see each piece of literature as art, looking at the same work from various angles. I learned to recognize great literature and 'tho I didn't major in English, I am a better person for having studied under her. She left a lifelong impression and I am privileged to have been her student.
