MARJORIE FISHER Obituary
The Board of Directors, Musicians, Trustees, Governing Members, and Staff of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra mourn the loss of treasured donor and longtime champion, Marjorie S. Fisher. Marjorie and her beloved husband Max M. Fisher are among the most generous patrons the orchestra has ever known. Her benevolence paired with that of their family foundation has helped take the DSO on tour domestically and abroad, and provided a catalyst for the reclamation of Orchestra Hall to its glorious self, positioning the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center as a hub for community and performing arts in the heart of midtown Detroit. Max and Marjorie Fisher gave boundlessly of their time and hearts to shape a viable and artistically excellent future for the DSO, and we will be forever grateful.
