Marjorie Joan Pepper

MORIAH — Marge Pepper of Moriah, passed away Dec. 14, 2008, at the Elizabethtown Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Nellie and Charles O'Neil.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Harold, Allen, Charles and Bob; her sisters, Helen, Janice, Joyce, Esther; and half sisters, Marie and Gladys; and also her beloved dog "Jake."

She is survived by her husband of 59½ years, Leslie Charles Pepper Sr.; two sisters, Cynthia of North Carolina and Margaret of Seattle, Washington; her sons, Leslie Pepper Jr. and his wife, Miki from Maine, Frank Pepper and his wife, Gloria of Port Henry; her daughters, Karen Gibbs and her husband, Chris of Lathem, Wanda Cox and Bob of Moriah, Bobbie Aurilio and her husband, John of Moriah, Teresa Dufrane and her husband, Dave of Port Henry, Sandy Wheelock and her husband, Rob of Port Henry, Cheryl Pierce and Cammie of Witherbee; 18 grandchildren, Nate Pepper and his wife, Christy of Texas, Joe Pepper and Jen of Boston, Danielle Pepper of Port Henry, Kim Buff and her husband, Keith of Clifton Park, Steve Gibbs and his wife, Kim of Clifton Park, Kelly Gibbs of Lathem, Angela Vickroy and Jerry of Ticonderoga, Amanda Nephew and her husband, Scott of Mineville, Heather Aurilio and Bob of Plattsburgh, Jamie Cheney and her husband, Walter of Moriah, David Dufrane Jr. of New York City, Charlie Dufrane and Jessica of Port Henry, Bobby Carr and Christina of Port Henry, Matt Wheelock and his wife, Amanda of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jim Wheelock and Amy of Neptune City, N.J., Jessica Wheelock of Port Henry, Jolene Pierce of Mineville and Tiffany Powell of Mineville; 17 great-grandchildren, Katie Pepper, Jack and Anna Buff, Ethan and Grace Gibbs, Cody Vickroy, Alexandria and Sydney Mosier, Owen Nephew, Trevor, Jordan and Hunter Cheney, Haley, Logan, Faith Carr, Noah and Jonah Wheelock. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

She loved being with her large family, traveling and gambling. She was also a member of the Women's Auxiliary. Marge loved many and was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Moriah Methodist Church.
