Marjorie Kathleen Punch

Marjorie Kathleen Blalock Punch, 78, of Newton, after a courageous battle with cancer, went home to be with her Lord Saturday, February 1, 2014.

She was born February 13, 1935 to the late William Avery Blalock and Etta Lee Killian Blalock of Catawba Co. Kathleen loved her family dearly and the laughter they shared, and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Fairgrove Church Road Campus.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Avery Blalock; mother, Etta Lee Blalock; and brother, Jerry Lee Blalock.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 60 years, Thomas Pinkney Punch Sr.; sons, Thomas (Tommy) Pinkney Punch Jr. of Catawba, and William (Steve) Stephen Punch and fiancée Viola Eckard of Hiddenite; brother, Ronald Blalock and wife Liz of Arlington Heights, Illinois; sisters, Doris Eggers of Mooresville, Cindy Starnes and husband Donny of Conover, Janet Spencer of Bethlehem, Sharon Jones and husband Larry of Lenoir; sister-in-law, Shelby Blalock of Claremont; grandchildren, Justin Punch and wife Tabatha, Shawn Punch, Michael Punch, and PFC Matthew Punch and wife Ashlyn; and great grandchildren Blake Punch, Katelyn Punch, and Aubrey Jenkins; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Christ United Methodist Church, Fairgrove Church Road campus. Pastor Jesse Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service.
