Marjorie Neely "Bobbie" Sweatman

MARSHALL — Loving wife, cherished mother and devoted grandmother, Marjorie "Bobbie" Neely Sweatman, 87, passed away October 9, 2011, in Lafayette, Louisiana.
She was born in Marshall on November 23, 1923, to Lonnie and Mamie Downey Neely. Bobbie was the last of the Neely family who founded Neely's Brown Pig Restaurant, a Marshall tradition.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Sweatman Allen and husband, Gene, of Tyler, Texas and Sandra Maddox Domengeaux of Lafayette, Louisiana; her sons, James Louis Maddox and wife, Brenda, of Austin, Texas and Allan Maddox of Eufaula, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jay Domengeaux and wife, Jennifer, of Lafayette, Louisiana, Bobby Maddox and wife, Katherine, of Austin, Texas, Jimmy Maddox of Killeen, Texas, Sara Maddox, Aaron Maddox, Scotty Maddox, Susan Clarke of Florida and Marshall Maddox. Bobbie is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Katherine, Thomas and Samuel Clarke, Andre', Maleah and Beau Domengeaux, Gemma Maddox and Autumn Sky Maxwell; and many other family members and friends who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Sweatman is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 44 years, Ardell Sweatman, who passed away on July 28, 2011; her daughter, Brenda Maddox Benchoff; and her granddaughter, Paige Denise Domengeaux; one sister; and seven brothers.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. today, October 12, 2011, at Sullivan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marshall, Texas. Entombment will follow in Colonial Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum.
