Marjorie (Kern) Terrell

Muncie - Marjorie "Joanne" (Kern) Terrell, 85, passed away on Saturday evening, October 20, 2018 peacefully in her home in New Castle with family members by her side.

Joanne was born July 11, 1933, in Muncie. The daughter of Charles and Mary Eloise (Dawson) Kern.

After graduating from Royerton High School she married Clinton Lee Terrell in 1953. Joanne worked at Marhoefer Packing Company and Precision Printing for many years before purchasing and operating McQuicks Oil Lube in Marion with her husband Clint in the 1980s. She continued to operate the business when it became Jiffy Lube until she retired in 2000.

Joanne resided in Muncie for almost 80 years before moving to Noblesville in 2014 and then to New Castle in 2017,

Joanne was a kind, generous and loving soul who loved surrounding herself with her family and extended family. She was embedded in her grandchildren's lives and participated and attended family activities and events almost daily. Family was the center of her life and her top priority. She opened her home and heart to all and was the cornerstone for the whole family.

Joanne is survived by three children; sons, Douglas Terrell (Jean) of Noblesville, Charles "Chuck" Terrell (Stephanie) of North Manchester, and daughter Kim Purvis of New Castle. Fifteen grandchildren and their spouses, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. Also, two brothers, Keith Kern (Carol) and Dick Kern (Jayne), and sister Sandy Gaskill-McKinnon (Larry) and sister in laws Pat and Judy Kern along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clint, her son Timothy Terrell, grandson Matthew Terrell, step daughter Beverly Minnier, two brothers Robert and Jon Kern, and sister in law Phyllis Kern.

Services will be 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum.

Family and friends may call from 10;00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donors' choice.
