March 2, 2023
Just stopping by to give respect. Rocking Slave all evening long as I tend to do often when I need a pick me up. I was 14, 15 years old when Slave music was all the rage. I remember walking the halls of my school and a young male classmate began acting like he was my paparazzi and pantomiming using a camera while serenading me with the lyrics to Snapshot. Oh and Slide...my goodness that groove hits the soul hard. Was shocked to know Mark was 16 y.o. when he recorded Slide. Such a talent. Thank you for the joy.

To Sheena, children-grandchildren-great grandchildren, Mark gave us a piece of himself everytime he picked up that guitar. His memories will live in our hearts forever. At such a young age he and other Daytonians got a chance to chase their dream and so glad they were able to. His offspring is just a reminder that he haven't left us and will always have a strong spirit not only in Dayton but the world. Mark made his mark and I know GOD is proud of his solider. Bless you all and GOD bless~

Mark was God's gift to the world and blessed me immensely through his virtuosity and monstrous tone on his bass! He was truly original and can't be imitated or duplicated. The mold is broken and will never be made again. By an extreme narrow-minded oversight, Mark was not included in the Bass Player 100 best bassists of all time. That is an absolute disgrace and is a glaring example of the fallacy of limiting the amazing talent of the world to an opinionated list. RIP Mark.....your light continues to shine my brutha!

When I started playing bass there was not a Slave song I did not want to learn how to play. If you thought you were a bass player and did not hear of Mark Adams you might as well put the instrument down and try something else. He was a must listen to player in the 70's and 80's if you wanted to play bass guitar. RIP Mr. Adams. You will be greatly missed.

i always thought i was the biggest slave and most of all Mark Adams fan but since his death I've read so many internet blogs with people paying their respects.
And like so many others have said he was my reason for playing bass all those funky grooves and thunderous thumps and plugs jus over whelmed me. so the christmas of 1978 i got my first bass guitar and the concept album by slave and from that point forward i was a fan and a disciple of Mark Adams the Hansolar may you rest in peace and i guarantee you will never be forgotten .....May you forever stone jam!!!!
