Mark A. BarnettSept. 12, 1988 - June 7, 2008 ALEXANDRIA — Mark A. Barnett, 19, went to be with our Lord on June 7, 2008, from Community Hospital Anderson, after a courageous lifetime battle with Marfan’s Syndrome.He was born Sept. 12, 1988, in Columbus, Ind., the son of Daniel M. and Andrea (Stoner) Barnett. Mark was a 2007 graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School and John Hinds Career Center in Elwood, where he studied machine trades. He also attended Vincennes University and Ivy Tech in Muncie. Mark was a lover of the outdoors and his passions were fishing, hunting and bow hunting. He was a skilled archer and had won several awards in district and state target archery. During his high school days, he had a keen interest in athletics and served as a team manager for virtually every Tiger sport, including football, baseball and basketball. He had worked at the Alexandria swimming pool, Strong’s Market, Carroll’s Archery and most recently at Kennedy Machine Tool and Die, all of Alexandria. Survivors include his parents, Daniel and Andrea Barnett, Alexandria; brother, Matthew Barnett, Alexandria; The love of his life, Beth Ashton, Alexandria; paternal grandparents, Larry and Joanne Barnett, Matthews; maternal grandmother, Sue Stoner, Alexandria; aunts, Becky (Brad) DeLong , Summitville, Rhonda (Brian) Holtzleiter, Upland and Kyle Anne (Shane) Tullis, Indianapolis; uncle, Rick Barnett, Kalamazoo, Mich.; cousin, Abigail Delong and cousin, anticipated in July, Bennett Tullis.Mark was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Jerry StoneServices 10 a.m. Thursday in Our Blessed Savior Lutheran Church, 309 W. Washington St., Alexandria, officiated by Pastor Kal Rissman. Interment at Matthews Cemetery, Matthews.Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Owens Funeral Home, 412 N. Harrison St., Alexandria, and one hour prior to the Thursday service at the church. I just heard the news today and I was devestated. I am very sorry for your loss..Mark was a wonderful person. You all are. I remember the boys at boyscout which they all had alot of fun. I remember the Halloween party at your house. You are all very wonderful people and I wish you the best in this very hard time. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about Mark. My heart is broke. I have been praying for you Dan, Andrea, and Matt. May God give you comfort knowing Mark is with Him.

Please let me know if you need ANYTHING. I want to help, but I do not know what to do........!

I always thought a lot of Mark. He was such a nice young man with that cute smile. He will be sadly missed.
