Brad and Marilyn, we met today in Houston, TX. I spotted your Humboldt Broncos jacket, and asked about it, because even here in Texas, we mourned with yall then, and again today. What you shared about your son Mark, was special. While time passes, your love for him doesnt. From the tragedy, a community banded together to share their prayers, tears, and support. I know I left sticks out, and my porch lights on for Mark and the others 18 months ago, as did many here in the Texas hockey community. As I was reminded of the tragedy again today, I hugged my three kids a little tighter tonight, and Ill say an extra prayer on yalls behalf. I have also felt the sting of losing a loved one, but I assure you, while they are not here physically, they are still very much alive, busily engaged in preparation for they day and honor it will be to receive you back home with God one day. I felt touched and strengthened by the spirit of the Lord today, and my prayer on your behalf is that you feel the arms of God around you and your family tonight, and know that God is aware, He loves you, and He does not cause the pain felt from tragedys, but He understands it, and will bear you up and take your grief. God bless, you, and God bless Mark and the others.

Dear Mark's Family Who will ever forget where and what they were doing on 04/06/18, after hearing the tragic news of the HST bus crash; it is like JFK, 9/11; the news brought such tragedy to so many families; Mark will be remembered for his caring ways as a team member with the HST; may you know I care, send kind thoughts, and prayers for healing to each of you; may you keep sharing his life memories with the world as his shining star guides you to celebrating his young life; he will coaching his HST in a heavenly hockey game; I send hockey hugs to each of you, Gail (Allen) Blain

To the Cross Family, Molly and his many friends

Our thoughts and deepest prayers are with you all during this most difficult time. My son met Mark on a couple of occasions and has nothing but positive words to say about him. You raised a very respected son, who devoted his time to the sport of hockey and helped with grooming many other young men into the sport. There is no doubt that his legacy will continue on in those whose lives he touched and will continue to do so in the years to come. There are no words to describe this horrible outcome, but know that there are many people who are by your side and will continue to do so in the days to come. RIP Mark and continue coaching those young boys from above.

Sometimes the names of people turn up in the stranges places.

I sign this on behalf of all old hockey jocks who felt the loss of a fellow Canadian, York U alumnus, "love of hockey" nut and kinesiologist like my daughter. I am old enough to be his grandfather yet young enough to remember all the days of my youth. Unfortunately, Mark will not get that chance but will remembered long after this day by many who never knew him. RIP

On behalf of my son and myself, we would like send our sincere sympathy and prayers to Mark's family. We know that words are not enough at this time to comfort in light of this terrible tragedy and deep sorrow, but memories will always live on. My son's time in Estevan playing with Mark are some of the best memories he has and he cherishes those days and getting to know Mark. He has shared with me what a great guy Mark was and knows his memory will live on through people like my son whom he touched and shared his life. Our deepest condolences. April 18, 2018

Dear Brad, Marilyn, Leah & Michael,
This is clearly a condolence that I would sooner not have to send. They were showing the players and staff that had been on the bus on HNIC. Wanda was watching with me. We know Adam's parents. Layne Matechuk, I know his Dad through SWP and his Grandparents were here with the RCMP. Mark Cross from Strasbourg. Wait a minute! Brad and Marilyn are at Strasbourg. Wanda ran and got our Creelman history book. Oh no, son, Mark. My heart sinks even further, if that's possible. I still walk around daily wondering why. I will never be able to forget about this. The coach from York gave a fantastic tribute to Mark. I just talked to a neighbor today that knew him through hockey. I wish I had known him. Great people are never forgotten.

I never met Mark in person but I don't think one needed to as everything I have read or seen about him has proven that you didn't need to meet him to be touched by his life.

The only thing I have to offer Mark's family and friends is a promise to be a good, kind and honest person - such as he was.

Always in my thoughts and prayers. God has a true and faithful angel with him. God bless everyone affected by Mark's call home.
