Mark was my Partner, my Friend, my Love and the most important person in my life. He changed me and my life with his love, kindness, passion for life and insane sense of humour. His family is my family now and together, we will honour him with love in our hearts forever. The love and respect I felt for him when we started down our path together lives on in my heart and soul. He was my soul-mate, my miracle.

Katie & Family,

We were so sad to hear of the passing of your father. We only heard the news last weekend.

Mark was taken from this world far too early for a man of such wealth in family and love for life.

You will miss him dearly.

God love you and your family.

Thinking of you all at this difficult time.

It is with tremendous sadness that I write this, as I am saying goodbye to a dear friend.

I knew Mark for 40 years, and throughout and without exception he always embraced life - with two hands, around the throat. When there was work to be done he did it, when there was fun to be had he had it, and when his family or friends needed a helping hand he was always there.

I know that I and all who knew him will miss him terribly, but I have so many wonderful memories of Mark and our times together that help to temper my sorrow. I will never forget his laugh. No matter your mood, no one could resist a smile when they heard his infectious laughter. It just made you happier.

Without even knowing it Mark helped teach me the importance of a life well lived. I feel blessed to have known him and honoured to have called him my friend. I am a better person for having known him.

My deepest sympathy to Monika, Katie, Matthew and all the rest of Mark's family.

Dear Monika, Katie Matthew and all of Mark's family,

How can I ever express my deepest sympathy for your and all our tremendous loss. Mark was a joy to be around, when he laughed we all laughed with him , his laughter was so infectious. His zest for life, love, and happiness should be held up as an example for all of us that are left to grieve his passing. Mark will be missed by everyone who's life he touched. He was charming , witty, humorous and had endless energy. He worked hard and played hard always giving both 100%. He was simply put a "great guy."
I was lucky to meet Mark 30 years ago, he introduced me to my husband David and our lives have been meshed together since that time. Time spent with Mark was always fun, he was such a gracious host and a terrific guest. Mark made everyone he spoke to feel like they were special and important in his life. He was a dedicated family man, Katie and Matthew were his life, Noreen was his grounding and Monika his love. My life has been enriched from knowing Mark, and between my tears, thinking of him brings a smile to my mind and my heart. I hope when I return to Canada I can see you all in person so we can share our wonderful memories and celebrate his life. At this moment I extend my deepest felt sympathy and wish I could have been around to help support you. I will keep you all in my thoughts, heart and prayers. Jacquie Cooper Koh Samui Thailand

Noreen, Larry and family. I was so very shocked and saddened to hear of Mark's passing. I remember Mark to be such a kind and caring young man. I will never forget his visits to see his Mom at work and how he made everyone of us who worked with Noreen feel as if we were his friends. It is said that God only takes the best and sadly this is true. Mark, Godspeed, but you left this world much too early; may you rest in peace. You were an angel on earth.

Monika Katie Matt and Family

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we write this. We extend our deepest sympathy to you. Mark was just like a brother and so much a part ours and Craig and Ryan's life always there for everyone. We will never share a glass of wine without smiling and hearing that special little chatter of Mark's lips and his famous toast "it's an impudent little wine isn't it?" or open a bag of chips without thinking about Mark. Mark would never utter a bad word about anyone and could always find the positive in everything.......so many wonderful memories.........

Mark, rest in peace

I am so sorry for your loss and our loss of such a wonderful, kind and funny man. I worked with Mark for 11 years and during that time I was blessed with his good humor and kindness. We shared many jokes and laughs: his goofy glasses, crazy hats, and funny slippers. We shared many Birthday parties at the office and he always asked for and received ice-cream cake for his birthday. Many times during the day you could hear Mark laughing in his office or with Annette– he had the most wonderful laugh. When Mark talked about his family one could hear in his voice his deep love and appreciation for them. I shall miss him and remember him always.

It is with great sadness that I write this, still not quite believing it is really true. Mark has been such a big part of my life, having worked with him for almost 23 years. He was truly the best boss I could have ever hoped for. He always treated me with the utmost respect and never had a mean word. I can truly say that he will never be able to be replaced.

I will miss all of the fun times and so many laughs at the office. Mark was such a prankster and always up for a good joke. There are so many stories I could tell!

Monika, Katie, Matthew and family, please take comfort in knowing what a good man Mark was, strong and fearless. I will miss him immensely but know I was blessed to have had him in my life.

I only knew Mark a short time; I've known Monika much longer. During that short time I first met Mark in London at Monika's mother's home a number of years back I began to appreciate this fine man. He personifies everything that is good in a person and I quote a famous American general "if you do your best what else is there". That was certainly Mark!

I'm not a religious person. I can't understand why such a noble person such as Mark is no longer among us. "Does any one know where the love of God goes" to quote Gordon Lightfoot in one of his famous ballads.

I shall miss him-where ever he is.
