Mark Christopher Irvine

Mark Christopher Irvine died unexpectedly on May 2, 2024 at the age of 35. Mark was born on March 24, 1989 to James and Virginia Hall Irvine, and fit perfectly into his role of younger brother to Jeff and David. Growing up, Mark was involved with Andover Youth Services and graduated from Andover High School in 2007 with a love for math, marching band, and penguins.

Mark attended Boston University where his involvement with pep band gave rise to his love of BU Men's Hockey, and his talent for math earned him three degrees in a four-year span. While residing in Boston, he met his best friend and love of his life, Bobby Main, and the two celebrated their union with the best wedding ever in September 2017.

Mark's math prowess took him into the developing fields of data analysis and online marketing where he used his talents to become a highly regarded expert and mentor in PPC with Wordstream and Searchlab Digital. Though an introvert at heart, Mark was an engaging and in-demand speaker at marketing conferences with his mix of data mastery, razor sharp wit, and a dazzling smile.

Besides his husband Robert Main of East Boston, Mark is survived by his father, Jim Irvine of Epson NH, his mother, Virginia Hall, honorary stepfather Curt Brimblecom of Andover MA, his brother Jeffrey Irvine, Jeff's wife Nicole, their daughter Trinity of Lowell, MA, and his brother David Irvine of Lee, NH as well as scores of friends and coworkers.

A celebration of Mark's life will be held on Saturday June 1, 2024 at Club Café, 209 Columbus Avenue, Boston MA from 1pm to 4pm. Though Mark looked great in a suit, he hated dressing up, so we encourage attendee attire to be casual (just no bowling shirts - per the guest of honor's preference). All are welcome to attend and share their anecdotes, photos, and memories of Mark.

A GoFundMe has raised funds for Mark's final expenses, with all remaining funds to be earmarked for Mark's favorite penguins at the New England Aquarium. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to your favorite charity or cause in Mark's honor. And when you see a penguin, think of Mark.
