It is still so hard to believe what happens. John and I enjoyed living next door and sharing cocktails and sunsets. We will always remember him so fondly. Our thoughts and prayers are with Karla, Zack and all lives that were touched by him. Love, Connie & John

We were blessed when Mark and Karla became our neighbors and then good friends. We came to know a good, kind, wonderful guy. Not only a great neighbor in the true sense of the word but also a caring man who loved his country. Our hearts are so saddened by his passing. We hope that in time the Good Lord helps to ease Karla's pain and suffering. Our condolences to the entire family and please accept our sympathies to all who were close to and loved Mark. We know he is in Heaven. We will not forget him. Ed and Anne Marie Zadzora

I met Mark and Karla while they were with the New York Skyliners Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps. I remember going over to George King's place in Wildwood, sharing old drum corps stories, and then pondering marriage advice over drinks and snacks. A few years later I was surprised to hear that Mark and Karla had moved to the Allentown, PA area and were also volunteering their services with The Cadets (my old corps). Very fond memories. To paraphrase my neighbor Pat - "Memories are one of God's beautiful gifts because they have no expiration date . . ."
Rest in peace Mark.

From Cousin Judy: this was such a sad end to the wonderful Mark and Karla story. It´s hard to loose a great guy who has known you all your life and shares your roots.

Mark and I were cousins, and opposites as well. Country mouse, city mouse, he was so disciplined, and I more freeform! Our friendly ribbing over Yankee/Giants and Phillies/Eagles sports was entertaining and led to half hearted congratulations and wait until next year utterances.
My last years were wonderful having him as a “neighbor.” I thought we would have more time for dinners together! I know he had my back. If I needed him, he’d be there.
Rest in Peace Mark. You were a good man who left an impact. You will be missed.

Dear Karla, I could tell from your pictures that Mark was one amazing Husband! I´ll always remember you both helping me last year when I lost my job. I learned from the pictures and videos of you and Mark that there are still great men out there! Such true love! Sending love and prayers. Katherine Young

I only knew Mark for a short time. It was the last couple of years, when he met and fell in love with my dear friend Karla. A blessing that made me so happy for BOTH of them. He was a remarkable man and made Karla so happy. I lived vicariously through their adventures and posts. I always told her, " they don´t make `em like that anymore". A true gentleman, so loving and thoughtful. A year or two ago when he had some health problems, he and Karla weren´t able to attend a Yankee Game, a Paul O´Neill retirement day. He kindly gave those tickets to me. It was probably the last time in my lifetime that I will be at Yankee stadium. A great memory and it wouldn´t have happened without his generosity.
Well done good and faithful servant. Rest in peace. Put in a good word with the Big Guy about a blessing for both the NY Giants and Yankees, they´re both going to need some holy intervention.

Dear Karla, our thoughts and hearts are with you.
It is such a shock because after he met you, Mark was full of life. Anyone who knew him knew you were his heart and soul mate.
May your years together and the memories you made keep you in these difficult days.

Mark was one of my many cousins. Unlike those I only heard of, Mark was one that I actually knew! We were connected through my cousin Kathy, my friend, who was the glue that kept parents, grandparents, cousins, nieces and nephews in contact over the years.
We were opposites! He was disciplined and I somewhat free. He was from Brooklyn and I from Chester County PA- country mouse city mouse. He was a Yankees and Giants fan, and I was deeply devoted to all Philadelphia teams. This resulted in occasional teasing phone calls during game time as well as reluctant congratulatory messages as well.
Mark loved NYC and was always a proud host as I toured the big Apple and Brooklyn. Thank you for that Cuz.
My favorite memories were more recent, when Mark met Karla and made the move to Macungie. Thank you Mark and Karla for sharing many lovely dinners together. I thought there would be so many more! I will always cherish having a relative nearby! I´m so sad our "neighbor" time was cut short! I feel so cheated!
Mark, rest in peace. You were loved and will be dearly missed.

Dear Karla, Chip and I are so deeply sorry for your loss of your beloved husband. I remember meeting him at the casino with you at some concert we went to together. He seem like a very, very nice man and you were very lucky to have had him. you are in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time. Also condolences to the family on this loss. Oh the memories you will have and I´m talking about the good ones which obviously were many. Sending hugs and prayers your way.
