Hello,

We wanted you to know that we will be honoring and remembering your loved one this holiday season. We have recently sent Care Packages to our deployed troops in his name. Each package will carry the name, photo, service branch, rank and hometown of Mark J. Kasecky US Army Specialist.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, our family, friends and many others who support our mission.

As I sit here and read some of these comments it brings back memories and feelings one can not explain. I was a member of Marks company at this time. We were one of 2 platoons from B co 2/103 armor attached to 1 platoon from c battery 1/107 FA for the 1st battle of Fallujah. I’ll be honest I really didn’t know Mark or Carl as we worked opposite shifts as we worked they slept and vs versa. I will however say that they are brothers to me. I don’t remember many of the names of those guys in his platoon but these two I’ll never forget and I damn sure won’t forget those patrols. Rest easy my brother we got it from here. Til Valhalla

Mark...its been close to 10 years and it still hurts like yesterday. You made us laugh. Id come home from work at 3am and youd be on the couch in your boxers watchn sports center. Im so glad we talked before you were taken from us, it ended up being the most important call of my life. You were suppossed to come home...you asked to come to my house, of course you can, i said. You didnt come home the way we wanted or expected...it killed everyone a little inside. Almost 10 yrs later i wonder where youd be and what youd be doin but mostly i just wish you came home. Everytime I think about Iraq, I can't help but remember the nights of playing cards and playstation in our tent. You were one of the few people in our company that I could relate to. Gone but not forgotten.

I am so truly sorry for your loss. I lost my nephew just yesterday, before Easter in Afghanistan, so I truly now understand how you feel. So very proud of these young soldiers and what they have given for our country. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

To the family of Mark Kasecky, I did nto know mark but i have a 21 year old bother in law serving over sea's so it hit me hard, please know he is a HERO no matter and he will listen to you every time you need someone to talk to.

I did have the privilege to know Mark, I met him when his family lived in Esplen for the short time they did. I wanted to let Marks family know that he will be missed by many. They way he smiled and laughed can always be remember. All of Esplen and my family would like you all to know that you will continue to be in our prayers and the GOD will help the family in this time of need. I had a close friend of mine recently return from Iraq, and now they want him to come back. To all the soliders over seas please be careful and return soon. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I am Eric's teacher at Johnston Elementary. We have all been thinking about you and praying for you. We know Mark will be missed, but he was a hero and we all appreciate the sacrifice that he has made for us. God be with all of you in this difficult time.

I am sorry for your loss. I did not know Mark but served in the 107th. I am Treyonna's teacher. Mark was a great hero for serving our country. Thank you for giving him to all of us.

I didn't have the fortune of knowing Mark, but I want his family to know that there are people who are thinking of them and Mark at this time of sadness. I have a brother who served 12 months in Iraq so your loss hits especially hard to me. I can't express enough support for American Soldiers and what they have been asked to go through.
