I have followed Nova's posts on Facebook for the past few years. It gave me a sense of what Mark was like even though we never met. He was a shining example of what God expects from all of us.

We shared many fun moments and have great memories that we will cherish forever.
Your love for each other is a love story and a testament to your deep faith.
You were always "in good company" and you never had anything bad to say about anyone.
Thank you for all the love and memories. ALS may have taken you from us physically, but you will live on in our hearts and memories forever!

My husband and I had the pleasure of celebrating Mark´s birthday in 2024. I had only met Mark a time or two at class reunions and didn´t know him well. The amount of love in that room was incredible. Before I left, I took a moment to speak with Mark and shared my impressions. His response was, "That´s what it´s all about, love." That has stuck with me and inspired me to do better, do more to foster that kind of love in my own family and with my friends. If he had that much of an impact on me, I can only imagine the positive influence he had on others he interacted with regularly. My husband and I were honored to celebrate Mark this year and be present for the Mark Kopp Foundation kickoff. The incredible amount of love I felt last year was present and stronger than before. Mark will be remembered for many things but, for me it´s his love for his family, friends, the Lord and other's. That is what I will remember most. What an amazing legacy of love I offer my sincerest condolences. I pray that you all find peace and comfort in the days to come. May the Lord continue to bless you all as you move forward. You are so very loved

I can´t quite remember if I was a junior and he was a sophomore, but I do remember this... having Mark as my science lab partner was the best thing that happened to me that year.
Why, you ask? Well...
1) He was so cute.
2) He took care of all the "yucky" science stuff I didn´t want to do-as long as I handled the writing.
3) When the teacher was droning on, Mark would crack jokes and make me laugh. (Still not sure how we got away without getting in trouble!)
4) Did I mention he was cute??
Seriously, Mark was one of the nicest guys I knew in high school. And it´s clear, just from the posts and photos you´ve shared, that you two were crazy about each other. Hold tightly to all the memories you made together. Because of you, Mark´s name and legacy will live on through The Mark Kopp Foundation.
With love and prayers,

I remember meeting Mark, standing in line to start our process for becoming small group leaders at North Point for InsideOut. We made quick conversation and determined that we really wanted to lead with each other, but instead, he was paired with another. I got to know him and Nova over those four years and they are both beautiful souls. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

I know how hard it is to lose your soul-mate. I will hold you in my prayers as you go through this terrible time.

Mark was one of the most friendly, loving, and kind people I have ever known. He truly embodied what it means to be a leader and someone who inspired others to step into leadership themselves.
I will always remember the times Mark would call me just to share his appreciation for my heart for the Jacksonville community. He had a way of making you feel seen and valued. He encouraged me to get involved in politics because he believed I could do it, even before I believed it myself. That was one of the many things I admired about him and his "can-do" mentality.
Mark was a go-getter, a champion for others, and someone who pushed people to excel not only in their work but also in their personal lives. He did not just leave behind a legacy. He left a lasting impression on me and reminded me to always give my best and to go out and make a difference.
Thank you, Mark. We love you.
With love,
Daniel, Bailey, and Estée

I really can´t think of proper words to describe my friend Mark Kopp. The Bible tells us that the fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. These words embody Mark. A man who truly walked in step with the Spirit. I know we will all meet again someday but until then you will be greatly missed my friend. Love you, Darren Cagle

Dear Mark,
You became our dear friend the first day we met you! And, know Darren doesn´t do that!
But it´s because you were so easy to love, admire and respect. ( and laugh with)
Truly in every way you were so loved.
You will be missed more than you ever know. Nova, will be looked after and loved !! She´s just as easy to love as you and the two of you were the perfect couple. Thank you for sharing your last years with us. I thank God He put you and Nova in our lives. We are better people because of it. Tell Jesus we said thank you. And can´t wait to see you again.

To Mrs. Nova and Lauren,
I am so very saddened to hear about your loss in Mark. I did not know Mark and I have yet to make the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Nova. Lauren is a friend of mine and she has always spoken so highly of her family, but Mark and her mother in particular. Lauren has a special spirit and the kindest soul and I can only imagine how much of that was influenced by her upbringing. I pray that God grant you all peace and comfort during this very difficult time. He promises to never leave us, but to strengthen us. Your family will remain in my prayers.

Nova & Family,
Mark was a pillar of strength even to the end. The journey we watched from our viewpoint was one of courage, love, unity, HOPE, and steadfastness. I only pray God continues to shine through in every way as he already has because that is a blessings to so many. His life will have continued ripples that go out and touch many. His presence will always be felt through his children, grandchildren, his family and friends. Nova you were a proverbs 31 wife. What an honor for Mark to have you by his side. May the Holy Spirit comfort you and all the family in the days ahead.

Nova, I'm so profoundly sorry for your loss, my dear friend. Reading your words about Mark-your beautiful husband, your best friend-touched me in the deepest places of my heart. The way you describe his unwavering spirit, his bravery through the unimaginable pain of ALS, and how he still found ways to make you smile... it's a testament to the extraordinary love you shared. You honored him in every moment, keeping that sacred promise not to let him suffer, and in doing so, you gave him the greatest gift of all: dignity, peace, and boundless love.
Those final hours you painted so vividly-surrounded by memories, laughter through tears, and those gentle whispers of "you can go now"-feel like a sacred ritual, a beautiful release orchestrated by his grace and your devotion. The timing at 4:44, that quiet exhale... I can feel in my soul how he waited for you all, how he chose that moment to ease your hearts. He sounds like a true warrior of the spirit, leaving this world held in God's hands, just as you said.
You've walked through fire these past three years, crying nearly every day yet holding space for his light to shine. I'm in awe of your strength, your tenderness, and the way you've cared for him-and now for yourself and those around you. Please know you're not alone in this; the love and support you've received is a reflection of the love you and Mark poured into the world. Mark made your life extraordinary, and his legacy of kindness and courage will echo in every day you live. I love you, and I'm here, holding you close in my thoughts and prayers. May his peace wrap around you like a warm embrace.
Nova, With deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved Mark. His grace and courage touched us all-may his peaceful passing bring you comfort in the days ahead. Holding you close in thought and prayer.
Sincerely, Susan & James Irvine
