Mark G. Mueller, 71, a life-long Massachusetts resident, passed away suddenly on the morning of Friday, September 29, 2023. Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Mark moved around the world in his youth as a member of a military family. Mark lived in Germany, Japan, and California, prior to settling in Chicopee, MA. Mark was a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School in 1970. After high school, Mark attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Mark enjoyed modified race cars, motorcycles, and snowmobiles in his younger years. Mark was an advocate for local youth sports and spent many years coaching and officiating games. He always had a passion for the Red Sox, old war films, Law and Order, as well as local and national politics. Mark relished all living creatures; he was fond of bird watching and had a profound love for Akitas. Mark is survived by his wife, Beverly Mueller, of 41 years; his son, William and wife Melissa of Belchertown; his daughter, Heidi of Chicopee; and his son, Matthew and his wife Jaime of Belchertown. His grandchildren always brought a smile to his face; he took pleasure in the company of his four grandchildren: Austin, Maximilian, Matilynn and Theodore. Mark is predeceased by his father, George, and mother, Ruth (Daly) Mueller, his brother, William, and sister, Karen Mueller, all of Chicopee, MA. Calling hours will be held for Mark on Tuesday, October 10th from 4:00 to 6:30 pm at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA, followed by a Prayer Service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on behalf of Mark Mueller to the Big East Akita Rescue Foundation (BEAR).
