In our years together at the S T I knew Mark only slightly, in recent times we became friends due to the difficult period of his wife's terminal illness, and the internet.
I shall miss the interesting conversations with him. My condolences to his family on the loss of a quality person. R I P

I am very sad to hear of Mark's death. Although we had not met for many years, we have shared memories of great Sunday Times days, in which Mark played such an important part. He will be remembered with great affection by his many friends and colleagues, and I send his family all my sympathy and condolences
