Mark Timothy Roach

Mark Timothy Roach died August 16, in Yucca, Arizona, of misadventure.

He was born May 14, 1957, in Manchester Connecticut, and lived most of his life in Maine. He was a man of nature, a rebel, and a hard working, singular individual who lived his life on his own terms.

Mark was hilarious and endearing, and sometimes exasperating. His warm, generous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He was both shy, and the loudest laugh in the room. You might get a quick visit, or a long winded story. He loved hard, and cried, and felt the weight of being human as hard as anyone can.

He preferred his music loud, on scratchy vinyl, and no cover songs - the original was good enough. His favorite Beatle was George, which reflected his Earthy spirituality and worldview. He loved people, but could do without them sometimes, too. He was kind and fair, and beautiful and real, and he left the world a better place for being in it.

He is survived by his beloved children, Rachel, Heather, and Cody, grandchildren Bradley and Allie, sister Kathy, brothers, Tommy and Johnny, mother Jeanette, and the mother of his children, Cathleen. Predeceased by his father James and brother Jim.

There will be no ceremony.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated and returned to the sea, to be free forever.
