Fremont - Mark D. Rohan, age 69, of Fremont WI, passed away on March 26,2026 at home surrounded by loved ones, after a strong fought battle with cancer.
Mark will be remembered for his quick wit, calm go with the flow personality, strength, and unwavering work ethic. A hard, dedicated worker throughout his life. He most recently was employed at Gene Frederickson Trucking & Excavating, Inc., and previously at De Arteaga Inc., where he was known as someone dependable, and committed to getting the job done right.
Mark was incredibly strong-no pain could keep him down-and he faced life the same way he faced everything else: with grit and humor. Even in his final days, he continued to joke and keep those around him on their toes, a true reflection of his spirit and resilience.
Though he wasn't one to openly share his deeper feelings, Mark showed his love through laughter, loyalty, and the time he spent with family & friends. He cherished good company and good times, for many years enjoying a cold Budweiser and cheering on his favorite team, the Miami Dolphins.
Mark is survived by his loving children Jesse Rohan & Jamie (Larry)Young; Life Partner Patti Oates; her children Mike, Paul and Kate (TJ). Grandchildren Riley Rohan (Brennya Lunde), Parker Young, Carter Young and Maxwell. And most recently promoting Mark to Great Grandpa, Great Grandson Jasper.
His Sisters: Cathy Rohan Smith, Lynn Rohan, Bonnie (Russell)Koplien, Colleen (Mike) Paters and Brothers: Tim Rohan, Kevin (Sue) Rohan, James (Julie) Rohan; whom he shared a special bond with-a close-knit family who did their best to keep him in line, but just as often joined in the shenanigans. Those relationships were a constant source of laughter, loyalty, and lasting memories throughout his life.
He also leaves behind Godson Austin Rohan, Aunt & Uncle Carol & Dennis Hilker, many nieces and nephews, great nieces/nephews, and cousins.
Mark has now joined those who he carried in his heart for many years: Parents Eugene (Gene) and Phyllis Rohan. Infant daughters Tina and Tara Rohan. Granddaughter Audrie. His close friend and supporter Julio de Arteaga Jr.
A family visitation and service will be held on April 15 at St. Patrick's Parish, Lebanon, New London, WI. Visitation will be held from 9-10:30 am with a service to follow at 11:00am. A private family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate Marks life.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his humor, strength, and the lasting impression he left on everyone who knew him.
On behalf of Mark, his family would like to send great appreciation to all those that assisted the family, visited & called; reminiscing of good times helped fill those last days with smiles, laughter, and love. As well as the wonderful services of Theda Care Hospice.
In lieu of flowers please direct donations to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Marks honor and in memory of Tina & Tara Rohan.
