Continuing daily walks with Mark's spirit keeping pace beside me: on the hospital grounds in Bedford until he drew his last breath, and now in the tranquil cemetery in Lincoln, the town where he grew up. The beautiful fields and trees and farms along Lexington Road would be very familiar to him, as would the planes (and music) from nearby Hanscom where his flight instructor mother taught him to fly in his teens. It seems very fitting that he came home to Lincoln.

Mark was a spirited and witty person, a kind friend and neighbor. He cared for the greater good in our world and shared his thoughts and visions articulately. My family was so fortunate to have known him and his presence is definitely missed.

A fine gentleman who was always ready to help those who crossed his path. He is truly missed.

I first met Mark when I was volunteering with St. Vincent de Paul Society. He was always lively. He told me about how he ended up in the Army. He also told me stories of his brother Stan, and his mother. He told me about being in the war. The war left a lasting impression on him. when he heard other vets talking about what they experienced he wanted to listen and be involved in the conversation. Mark was kind and very much enthralled with Catherine. He always refer to her as "My angel".

His white headdress, inspired by his Chiricahua (Apache) heritage and worn "to remember those who did not come back" (from Vietnam), his white Nissan, his American Spirit cigarettes, his love of music, his sense of humor. A walking companion with a perfectly matched pace!
