Mark Tappe

Tappe, Mark 4/20/1954 - 5/15/2022 Grass Lake Mark (68) died suddenly in his home in Grass Lake on May 15, 2022. He was born in Lansing Michigan and raised in Ann Arbor. While attending Pioneer High School, he was a member of the swim team. Shortly after graduating from High School, Mark moved to Phoenix, Arizona. While in Phoenix he learned HVAC maintenance and worked for Intel, Flip Chip, AT&T, and Home Depot. He also taught at Arizona Automotive Institute and was always willing to teach and share his knowledge. He enjoyed spending time racing his motorcycle in the winter on Whitmore Lake and at area dirt tracks throughout the rest of the year. In addition, he loved camping, canoeing, and was an avid hunter for a number of years. He was very interested in Ann Arbor history and participated regularly on the Ann Arbor Townies Facebook page. He recently returned to the Ann Arbor area where he planned to enjoy retirement. Mark is survived by his mother Donna, his sister Deb Schneider (John), his former wife Mary, their sons Keith and Kyle Tappe (Jasmine), and two grandchildren Bram and Rylan Tappe, along with other close friends and family.
