Mark Harmon Tornga

Mark Tornga, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, lost his courageous battle against cancer on July 18, 2023, in Oro Valley, Arizona. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on February 7, 1941, to George and Edith Tornga.

Mark is survived by the love of his life, Susan and his three children: Daughter, Kim Arnold (Scott), son Greg Tornga (Lorraine) and daughter Brandi Wade (Michael) who brought immense happiness to him.

Mark cherished his role as a grandfather and was blessed with five beautiful grandchildren - Alexi, Austin, Zachary, Trey and Brayden who gave him continuous joy.

Mark attended Central High School in Grand Rapids, where he developed life-long friendships and a deep love for learning. He went on to pursue a meaningful career in healthcare administration, where he made a significant impact on the lives of many. Mark managed multiple facilities in Michigan, California and Arizona over his 40-year career.

He loved sports as a participant and avid fan. "Go Blue"! He liked nothing more than several hours on a golf course with his buddies, followed by beer and tall tales on the 19th hole.

Mark's kind heart, infectious laugh, and positive outlook on life were an inspiration to others. He approached life with a lightheartedness that uplifted all those around him. Whether it was his love for family gatherings, extensive world travel, or a glass of wine, Mark cherished every moment and spread happiness wherever he went. He lived a full life.

Despite the challenges he faced, Mark met them with courage and grace. His spirit will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Mark Tornga will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever be etched in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
