Mark and I were classmates in elementary school in Upton MA in 1954. I remember going to a birthday party in his house on Maple Avenue.
Never knew why the Tuppers moved or where they went until I saw a Tv documentary about his dad and Tupperware

I first met Mark in the mid-1980's when Bob Nauheim arranged for me to have a few hours chasing after Pacific sails at Bahia Pez Vela Lodge (Saifish Bay). The experience changed my life; hooking a nine-foot sailfish on the fly was the most incredible experience I'd ever had. I returned to my home in Washington State and began getting together some paying clients for a return, something I did for the next six years. On my seventh year I flew down with a film team to co-host Fly Fishing the World. This was very successful; I was told this was their most popular program. A few times Mark gifted me a few days of fishing for the cost of gas and tips. During those years Mark became a dear friend and I was fortunate to have caught two of the largest sails ever taken during Mark's ownership of Bahia Pez Vela, with the largest estimated at over 150 pounds. Mark's generosity was instrumental in getting my book, Bluewater Fly Fishing, off to a great start. Mark was the ultimate sportsman, and a pioneer in fly fishing for Pacific sailfish. Trey Combs

I didn´t meet Mark, but knew his brother Glenn and his wife well. They lived just up the road from us in Costa Rica. Wish I knew where they are at now. Sorry for your loss.

Knew Mark in Costa Rica- 1974/5... I was going to school and working nights in a bar-Ye Pub- in San Jose. He was a big part of our bar family, playing darts, softball, and generally hanging out! Great guy, great memories! Rest in Peace Mark!!

I knew Mark when we both lived in Smithfield, RI and attended Georgiaville Baptist Church. We attended Hope High School in Providence, RI. I lost track of him after high school but have always considered him a friend. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Mr. Tupper was a great influence in my life. I met him at the young age of 23 and was fortunate enough to to have fished with him spending quality time together for years. He taught me so much and I always had great respect for him. I feel such great gratitude that I had the opportunity to know him and be his friend . Someone I will never forget. I only wish I could fish one more day with him one more cigar and one more scotch. Rest In Peace Mr. Tupper and thank you for everything you taught me.

i met mark, through earl, so long ago i can't remember. i assume for some international tax advice. the conversation turned to fishing and mark showed me a magazine with a beautiful girl on the cover fighting a fish. i was single at the time and said if i come down to costa rica will you get me a date with the cover girl? he responded as only mark could with a chuckle and stated that was his girlfriend!! mark hosted my wife and two children in costa rica, shuttling us by airplane to the pacific coast and thereafter the atlantic for four days of fishing. he brought his family to our guest ranch in jackson,wy and made a return trip several years later. i agree that he was the original most interesting man in the world. mark, thank you for your generosity and friendship.
