Mark really got me started seriously in the music biz. I was about 18 and had played all my life, but it was he who gave me the confidence to drop everything else and become a full time musician. Which I've done ever since. He always stuck up for my in any musical circumstance. Of course he was genius level brilliant, we had started a band together for the summer, he said I'll back up what I say, "By the end of the summer, I'll jam 4 years of Berklee down your throat". We had a pro shop picture taken in front of Johnny Yee's, summer 1980. I've never been able to find a copy. As a matter of fact, the band broke up about half way to through the summer "Harbor Lights", Then Mark and I went to Hill's Dining Room on West Main St., and played there for a year doing a jazz duo. He was Absolutely one of the funniest guys i ever worked with in 40 years. We were such good life long pals, we'd be out working at night, then up in the morning out doing bright work on boats (he was an award winning crafstman). One summer we worked as Capt. and 1'st Mate on a local cruise, from no father than Hyannis to Pine Island as it turned out. When I asked him what I should know for the job, he said "75% percent vodka and 25% cranberry" then he said "Any other questions?" After all this time, a week never passes when my brother and I don't crack up about something "World Wide Web" said or did! We we're all a little off center, but in a very funny way, never mean spirited. We we're all just enjoying life every day and laughing at the world in the process. He was one of a kind, I'll never forget him!!!!

Well, I am about a decade too late, my fault.
Mark, you opened a BIG musical door for me. I was the beneficiary of your generous, trusting, risk taking heart. Thank you for giving me a shot in our band. I think it worked out great. I have GREAT memories of our one year together. It was a special time for me, and I thank YOU for that. You really cared about others. We had FUN when you were there. I'll be looking for you when I get over there.

I find comfort in the words of Romans; Chapter 8; Verses 31-39. I hope Mark's family will, too.

Dear Divvy and Chet,
Mark will always live on in my head and heart as so many memories of him pervade my life.
He was my first best friend when I moved to the Cape year round in 1963, and we had stayed in touch throughout the years. I loved his wit, his talent and his sensitive soul. May he rest in peace, and may your family take solace in knowing that he was loved by so many. Both of you are in my prayers, as is beautiful Klimmy. I will call you Divvy.

I just got an email today and was so sorry to hear about Webby. It's been a very long time since I saw him, but still have pictures and lots of good memories of times at UNH and in Durham and Dover, and a couple of trips to Cape Cod and up to Maine. My thoughts are with both of you.

Dear Divy and Chet,
You may not remember me, but I worked with your brother Mark for a couple of years in a musical duo called Kiwi. I had just gotten back from New Zealand (hence the name) and was determined to work full-time as a musician. Enter Mark "Wheeze" Webster who was visiting my roommates, the "bay boys." He had come up to NH from the Cape and was looking for something to do. A duo was born! I have such great memories of our road trips (in his VW bus) and the fun we had performing 6 nights a week and at various weddings. He was an incredibly talented musician with a gifted ear and he taught me alot. We drifted apart over the years, but it was with great sadness that I heard of his passing. I will forever remember him (and his crazy dog Bo) with his head of curls, a smile on his face, and matching socks and boxers!! My sympathies to you both.

It is a moment of great sadness. Wheeze, Klimmy, Mark had a uniqueness that brought many different kinds of people together. Music, laughter, and love just touch the surface. The Band will never forget.

Dear Divy and Chet,
Donna and I just received word today that Mark passed away last month. I have spent the entire night talking with with friends and sharing stories of times with the "Wheeze", and there were many! We hope that he finds peace and we do know that he is cruising heaven in the "hot rod" with a lady on each side of him!! Our thoughts are with you and with him.

Dear Divy and Chet,
I just learned yesterday of Mark's passing. I was shocked. "The Wheeze" was such a good friend. I have the greatest memories of times at the Cape, UNH, playing with the Lewis Bay Band, sharing an apartment and his being the 'best man' at my wedding. Diane, too, is shocked at his passing. Although we lost contact over the last several years, Wheezer's free spirit and the good memories have always remained a part of our lives. The really good times are countless. We will miss him.
Diane and I send our deepest sympathies to you both.

My deepest condolences go out to you, Chet and Divvy. Thank the good Lord that you two brothers have each other. Mark is in a better place. He is in good hands. I, too, know what it is like to love and lose your brother. He was a gentleman to the end. You are both in my heart and prayers.

Dear Chet and David,
It was with profound sadness that I read of your brother's premature passing. Mark was always so special to me; one time when your band Rigor Mortis was playing at the BHS cafeteria, Mark wore my orange windbreaker and I was so proud and in awe of his musical ability. I remember a trip back to Mount Hermon/Northfield Schools and was so glad to have Mark riding with us. The nickname he gave me "chutesey" is in use still today in my e-mail address.
It was heartwarming to read the old familiar names here and their thoughts of Mark.
May God grant you peace.

David & Chet,
It was with profound shock that I heard of Mark's passing....Sadly, I learned too late that we were living just a few miles apart. I can only echo the words of so many friends who share happy memories of our youth growing up with the three of you on the Cape. I will always remember our happy times spent sailing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Divy and Chet,
May I extend my profound sympathy to you both on the great loss of Klimmy. He possessed such a caring, passionate and loving spirit. I can not forget him. He was such a big part of my youth - crewing on the Webfoot, snorkeling at Estey Avenue beach, "Creature Feature" sleepovers, marine biology summer classes together, the "after anything" parties at your home, and of course, following the band. My life on Cape Cod was enriched by Klimmy. These memories will always make me smile. I wish you peace and know that Klimmy has now found eternal rest. I will miss him.
My best to you both.

Dear David & Chet:
I regret that I never got to meet Mark in person, but on the few occasions that I spoke with him on the phone his personality virtually electrified the phone lines.
I know that a bell rang on that day and he is with Webby, Mima, Charcoal and all the other beautiful souls. Perhaps he is off sailing with Captain Coleman!
May the arms of the angels embrace and comfort you and Chet at this time. My thoughts and love are with you now and forever...

In celebration of the life of Mark Webster
Mark Webster was a friend of mine. He helped me in his kindness and understanding, the very essence of friendship.
He showed great character during the challenges that life can sometimes present. He offered that gentleness of character in friendship. For that I will always be grateful.
It is my blessing to have met someone who was a friend and held his life and the life of others in dignity and respect.
In faith,
Grace

Dear David and Chet,
I am so sorry to hear about Mark. All of us send our heartfelt sympathies.
Mark touched each of our lives in a very special way. Although we had not been in touch with Mark in a long time, the love he etched on the tablets of our hearts over the years is always present. I don't think anyone of us can think of him and not think of his warmth, humor, transparency and...
simple preciousness.
We pray that God would comfort your hearts and that you would feel His nearness in a special way in this time of loss.
