Mark Wojcik Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 19, 2021.
Mark Francis Wojcik passed away on Sunday December 19, 2021. Born in Norristown on February 3, 1965 he was the beloved son of Francis T. Wojcik and the late Sophie "Dolly" M. Wojcik (nee Markoski). Mark attended Visitation BVM grade school and later graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School in 1983. Mark's most recent employer was Independence Blue Cross where he supported employers and their families with their insurance and health care needs for 16 years. In his free time, Mark loved to cook and had a passion for good food. He enjoyed watching baseball, particularly the Phillies, and football (a huge Raiders fan). He was a big movie buff, liked classic rock and roll and was a master of trivia. He was a devoted brother to Maria Hornickle (Dr. David Hornickle), loving uncle to James Hornickle and the late Grace Hornickle and cherished friend to many. Mark was a protector, but also gentle and kindhearted. With his witty sense of humor and generous spirit, Mark made friends everywhere he went. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. In an effort to keep everyone safe and healthy, services to the family will be private at this time. To share your fondest memories of Mark, please visit www.lifecelebration.com, 610-277-7000. Donations in Mark's name can be made to the American Heart Association at heart.org. Services to the family are entrusted to Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Life Celebration Home of East Norriton.

I was just reminiscing about childhood friends and decided to try and find Mark. It took my breath away to see that he just recently passed away! Sending my deepest condolences to his family, especially Maria. I have so many fond memories of going to school with Mark at Visitation and even going Christmas caroling with Mark and Maria. I wish I had gone and looked for him sooner.

I was devastated to hear that my friend Mark left us ! I worked with Mark in Plymouth Meeting and always enjoyed our talks and laughs! I won't forget the time when I told him I was going to Chicago, (Wrigley Field) and he asked if I would bring him home a baseball cap from Wrigley Field and instructed that it had to be purchased inside the stadium only! He was so happy when I returned with the cap. He was a great guy and can't imagine not seeing him again once we return to the office. He will be truly missed. All my sympathies, Magda Karras

Spending time with Maria at the Wojcik's house as a kid, Mark always had time to talk to me, his little sister's friend and always made me laugh hard. I remember him as a true 70s person - KISS poster, Bruce Lee poster, nunchucks...Rest in peace Mark, you will be sorely missed.

Mark was one of the nicest people I have ever known. I will wholeheartedly miss our chats, our jokes and our talks about his lack of desire to know and understand current day technology. While I tried to get him to listen to some current day music, he would always push right back to listen to this song, or this song.all 70's classics. I'll miss hearing about his elaborate meals he was planning for and just our talks in general. Hope you are at peace and I will miss you!

My cousin was such a vibrant person, quick with a joke and kind words for all. He was such a "gentle giant", very caring and ready to help. He is missed but will always have a strong presence in our lives.
