With heavy hearts, we remember Marla Rocks-Preston, who departed from this world on 3-14-2024 after a long battle with illness.

Marla was born on August 24th, 1961 in Chester, MT. Marla grew up in Joplin, MT along with her sister Kim and 4 brothers; Randy, Kevin, Bunk, and Aaron. She had many fond memories of the family farm and living in Joplin. Wheat harvest season was always a big deal in the Rocks household. The whole family would help out driving trucks \ loading grain and driving the combine.

Marla eventually made her way to Great Falls, MT and met the love of her life, David Preston. They spent many years together in Great Falls before retiring to Mesquite, NV. They had many happy years together enjoying the retired life. In 2023, David suddenly passed, devastating Marla.

Marla was an amazing cook who could even make Emeril blush with her skills in the kitchen! A world traveler, Marla loved to share stories of the time she got to see the Pyramids of Egypt and castles of Scotland. She was also an avid music lover, gardener, and golfer.

Marla lived a life that, though marked by challenges, was also filled with moments of warmth, love, and fleeting glimpses of joy. Despite the difficulties she faced, she remained a beloved grandmother, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Though her battle with illness ultimately led to her untimely departure, we choose to remember Marla for the moments of warmth and love she shared with us. In the quiet corners of our memories, she lives on, free from pain and at peace with the struggles that once consumed her.

She is survived by her son, Christopher and his wife, granddaughters Rowan and Rebecca, her mother Marlene Rocks, her sister Kim Manseau, and brothers Aaron Rocks and Bunk Rocks.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones when the combined burial service is scheduled. The service will be for both Marla and her husband David.

In memory of Marla, the family kindly requests donations be made to Al-Anon Family Groups, an organization providing support to families and friends affected by addiction.
