She was a 1981 graduate of Clinton High School. Marla was united in marriage to Orlie "Jay" Oates on October 30th, 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Marla worked at Target, as manager, for fourteen years. She loved her family and loved organizing family events and gatherings. She also enjoyed tracing her family lineages and history through her genealogy research. However, Marla's true passion was looking after the well being of animals, this is supported by rescuing and keeping her nine cats. She was a loyal and faithful supporter of animal shelters. She loved reading and listening to country music. Above all she was always drawn back to helping people, especially her family. She was a good and kind hearted person who would always put those in need ahead of herself - she was the glue that held everyone together. She loved her nieces and nephews as much as her brothers and sisters. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.
