I just heard Marlena's version of "Kiss Me In The Morning," and it made me cry. I wish l could have told her how much l appreciated and adored her God given talent. Didn't she blow our minds? She sure did. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. Earth's loss & Heaven's loss.

My family and I would like to extend our sincere condolencesRes to the family and friends of Ms. Marlena Shaw. She was a great R&B entertainer who had style and grace of a true "Lady". "California Soul" and "Go Away Little Boy" are R&B classics that will be part of music history for all time. There is no doubt that Ms. Shaw will be missed by all who knew her personally and professionally.
May you find comfort in knowing that those who have passed away in death, God keeps in his memory because they are all precious in his eyes. And it is our sincere hope that you find peace in knowing that he understands your grief and pain and he cares for you.
Respectfully,
Guy Apollo

I first saw you in the late 70s in a club on Sunset in Hollywood. You were magnetic. When you sang "Sweet Beginning" and "Go Away Little Boy", you blew me away. That was my "Sweet Beginnings" with you. That was the night I fell in love with you. You were captivating. You had the audience in the palm of your hand. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with us. RIP beautiful lady. You deserve it.....
