Dear Mom,
I´m missing you so much. Your birthday just passed - you would have been 87. It was our first birthday without you, and the house felt different without your light. Quiet. Tender. Empty.
Your room remains just as you left it, minus the photos Squirt and the other girls lovingly took with them. Your bed, your furniture, even your clothes still hang in the closet. I keep telling myself I´ll find the strength to start moving things, but I haven´t yet. Squirt took some of you clothes that were in your dresser, some she took to goodwill, some she kept for herself, just to have a piece of you were her, she says she can still smell you on them.
There is an emptiness throughout the house, but I still feel you here. I miss you terribly. My heart aches.
I hope you knew how deeply you were loved, and how much of you lives on in us.

Well mom, it´s been one month. And the sting is just as fresh as it was the day you went to be with Jesus. The last season of your life was very hard but yet there was so much that I learned even though you suffered!!! I wanted to speak at your funeral but my words failed me because how do I put into words the love that I have in my heart for you. I know that each one of us loves you dearly and that you will be missed beyond words!! I think one of the biggest things that gives me comfort is knowing that you´re with dad again. I love you too!!
