Dear Gerry,
It is with deep sadness that I learned of the passing of my dear friend Marlene. From our teenage years as employees at MacIntosh and Watts, right through to our lunches together while visiting our daughter Jessica while she was attending Carleton, Marlene has always been an important part of my life. She brought great joy and enthusiasm to our many family gatherings she attended over the years.
Marlene's genuine "bubbly" and optimistic outlook was always welcome, no matter how long we went between visits. She was certainly one of a kind!
My thoughts and prayers are with you Gerry.

Gerry,
My deepest condolences for the loss of Marlene. Her raunchy sense of humor and the way she made us cry from laughing will always be remembered. I even have a video of her when we all got together for a BBQ in summer 2004, what a great time that was. This caring, funny and wonderful woman will always be a part of us. All the best to you during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Andrew Jimmo (Harry & Sharon's youngest son)

I was surprised to hear of Marlene's passing yesterday, while speaking with a friend from Carleton. Although I knew of her during my many years at Carleton, we got to know each other better and talked more often during my temporary assignment in the Dean of Engineering's office. I enjoyed our conversations, and remember her as a kind and generous person. Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss.

Gerry,
I was lucky enough to work with Marlene and Peggy back in 2001-2 when I was in the Engineering Office. Marlene was so helpful and taught me a great deal. I just wanted to let you know, as you do already, how her smile would just touch your heart and how she was such a caring and warm individual. We had just talked and caught up with our news a couple of months ago.
I was so shocked to hear of her death yesterday. Her presence on campus will be missed. My thoughts go out to you and your family at this time.
Sincerely,
Lianne Dubreuil
