Marlene was married to my brother James. When are children were small we spent many play days together. As time passed and they all grew up, we didn´t see much Marlene. I was able to see her on several occasions for great catch-ups. I was able to stay connected with her daughter Leslie. Was sorry to hear about Marlene´s passing.

I was always entertained by Marlene´s sense of humor. She was quick with many witticisms I had never heard before. One laugh-out-loud example....... We were staying with Marlene and Alan in Dallas. It was Sunday morning. Out of six of us that Sunday, only one, Larry, wanted to go to church. When he returned, the other five of us were eating a delicious breakfast. Marlene welcomed him home with, "Hey Larry. We waited for you.......like one pig waits for another."

So many people have reached out to us in this sad time, having mass said for my Mom and sending food. We thank you from our hearts!
A good friend sent this to me and it is perfect.
God bless,
Leslie and Dan
If Roses Grow in Heaven
If roses grow in Heaven,
Lord, please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my mother´s arms
And tell her they´re from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
And hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy
I do it every day,
But there´s an ache within my heart
That will never go away.

Safely Home
I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's Will.
There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth -
You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!
