Marlene Minyard Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 5, 2025.
Marlene Kathryn Minyard, age 72, of Jacksonville, Florida, entered her Savior's arms on Friday, February 28, at 7:10 PM in her home. She passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease.

Born on October 6, 1952, in Pensacola, Florida, Marlene was the beloved daughter of Eldridge and Mildred Bradley and sister to Dennis Litka, Patricia, and Emily Ann Bradley.

Marlene, an LPN, spent over four decades selflessly serving patients in several states. She retired from Naval Air Station Jacksonville, where she was a DOD employee serving our active duty military for 14 years. She was passionate about and fiercely loyal to her family, often bragging about her grandkids and children.

Her cherished family gave her many names - Marlene, Molly Joe, Beega, Mom, Mommy, and Maw-maw. She is survived by her husband, Harold Minyard; children, Bradley Anderson (wife Lacy Barkley-Anderson) and Karlene Houston (husband Alex Houston); grandchildren Braydon A. (12), Preston J. (8), and Alida Milliana (2); her sister, Patricia Bradley Flanders, nephew, Dennis Litka (spouse Lisa Litka), niece, Tiffany Flanders Vaughan, and great nephew, Aidan Vaughan, who will continue to honor her memory by living out the values she instilled in them. Her parents, Eldridge Carroll and Mildred Bradley, brother Dennis Litka, and sister Emily Ann Bradley, preceded her in death.

Her family will gather privately to celebrate her life. They appreciate your love and support during this time.

2 Timothy 4:7-8, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day."

There are no words to make it any better. But I´m thankful for having her in my life. Her memory will be kept alive by all those who knew and loved her. I´m quite jealous she´s enjoying the streets of gold and enjoying peace. I love her for many reasons but most of all for making Karlene the woman she is today. Till we see you again.
