Marlene Lavoy Rouff

In Loving Memory...

Marlene passed away peacefully in Fresno, California, on August 24, 2025 at the age of 89. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, volunteer, and friend.

Born in Oklahoma in 1936, Marlene moved with her family to Fresno, California, in 1945 and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1954.

Marlene and her beloved husband, Max, shared 66 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on love, joy, and acceptance. Together, they created a legacy that continues to grow: six children, sixteen grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren (and counting).

Trained as a bookkeeper, Marlene worked alongside Max for many years, but her greatest devotion was always to her family. Her home was a place of open arms and open hearts, where not only her children but any child in need of "being mom'd" was welcomed. Whether with tough love, a warm hug, a home-cooked meal, or simply a safe bed, Marlene knew how to nurture with grace.

Her passions were many-volunteering for Valley Children's Hospital, member of the Marine Corps League where she loved being an usher for Fresno State University Football and Softball games, raising and loving her Bichon dogs, quilting, and cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marlene was preceded in death by her husband Max, her brother, and her parents. She is survived by her large and loving family, who will carry her spirit forward with gratitude and love.
