Marlene Skolnik, née Garber, at 86 years old.

Beloved wife of Morton for 61 years. Loving mother to Kenneth (Judy) Skolnik and Deborah (Dan) Rosenberg. Proud Bubby to Jacob (Breana) Skolnik, Rachel Skolnik, Ari Skolnik, Jonah Rosenberg, and Evan Rosenberg. Cherished sister to the late Audrey Young and dedicated aunt to Marc Young and the late David Young. Daughter of the late Morris and Adele Garber.

Marlene grew up in Chicago, attending Von Steuben High School, and then lived in Highland Park for the rest of her life. She decided to continue her education when she was in her 40's, eventually earning her bachelor's and master's degrees and becoming a social worker. She was proud to be Jewish and was a strong supporter of Israel. Marlene loved taking art classes, visiting museums, and especially seeing theater and watching movies with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Thinking of your family. Wishing you peace as you navigate through this difficult time. Marlene had a kind soul. She was wonderful and supportive this past year to me. She checked in on me and my mom through some difficult times. Her memory is a blessing.
