Mrs. Joseph always, always had a friendly smile and a hello for me whenever we met.
In later years she would always ask for my mom after my father passed away.
May perpetual light shine upon her, and may she rest in peace.

I was blessed to know Mrs. Joseph because I went to Gorman will all of children. While not one was in my grade, I uniquely connected with most of them via our persistent sense of humor regarding our faith, our Lebanese heritage, and just about everything else.
Mrs. Joseph, since I was about age 15, my personal Senator. I would go to her with ideas and seek advice and consent. Later, when I served in public office, she would offer advice and expect consent on a regular basis. She was usually right.
She wanted me to think about things and not be subject to one sided knee jerk reactions. Most human issues are really human with different sides because of our real life struggles and successes.
She always showed a keen interest in me. But, I think she did with most young people. She wanted us to do well and laugh along the way. I owe my pronounced sense of sarcasm to her for sure.
We also connected because she was queen in her kitchen as I was king in mine. While our styles commanded excellence, our staffs appreciated the hours we put in working right next to them each day. Joseph's Catering did all my fundraisers and they were so over the top.
I very much have enjoyed the close friendships I have had with those close to my own parents' age. Age is relative. Age is over-rated. I never had a friend close to my age as special as Mrs. Joseph.
All of her siblings are so special as well.
The ones closest to my age are like a sister and brother to me.
God bless Mrs. Joseph and her family.

To the Joseph family: I am so sorry to read this news. When I first heard, I thought "That just can't be". Of course, no one lives forever, but she seemed as if she always would. Mrs. Joseph was a memorable figure in life over the years. As a very young child, I remember her support for McGovern in the presidential election.
Some key intersections in my life include Cub Scouts, catering our wedding, coordinating the Altar Society luncheons after my parents' funerals. These span multiple decades. She was truly a presence and someone who made an impact. Well done.

Byers, Bernadine, and Christopher , There are no words to express my sincere sorrow on the loss of your mom. Mrs Joseph was a Tyler Jewel and shared many funny quips and bits of wisdom to all she met.
May God have mercy on her soul and may she Rest In Peace. Amen.

What can I say about a woman who in my mind stood out like a wild flower in the midst of mediocrity. And I mean that in the most respectful way. What class. What flare. What Life she brought to any event. Mrs. Joseph and Mr. Joseph were an East Texas Treasure that I will miss immensely. *Late and On the way to a catering event Mrs. Joseph was driving a bit irratic with Mr. Joseph as a passenger, told Her, in a way only Mr. Joseph could get away with, "Marnie, you can have half the road but not the middle half." What a Gem Marnie was. And what a collection of jewels they were together. My deepest saddest condolences to you, Bernadien, Byars, Bernadette and Christopher. (Sorry if I misspelled your name Bernadien). You are all my favorite -Steve "Stevie" Carvajal
