Marshall E. Peyton

Marshall E. Peyton, 82 of Galena, IL, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Furlong Funeral Chapel in Galena is assisting the family. He was born on February 11, 1943, in Portsmouth, VA. Marshall is survived by his wife of 57 years, Deanna "Dee" Peyton, son Brian (Lindsey) Peyton of Galena, three grandchildren, Natalie, Quentin and Connor, sister Marjory (Michael) Green, nephews, Mark (Rebecca) Green, Jeffrey Green, Justin (Suzanne) Green, sister-in-law Deniece Holman (Larry Chastain) and nephew Kevin (Tawni) Klotz, Dennis Smith Jr. (Marinda), Melissa Ettleman, Justin Smith, Nathan Smith, Nick (Sarah) Jaeger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Carl Peyton and Josephine (Sparks) Peyton; his daughter, Joann Elizabeth, at birth; his in-laws, Wilbur & Wilma Smith; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Holman and Dennis Smith.
