Marshall,
Since your passing, we have lost other Foul Balls softball team members, Roy C. and John D. I hope there is softball and golf in heaven! We will gather again. Think of you and your family often.

I just cannot believe you have been gone ten years. It was so gratifying connecting with you by letters and e-mails after so many years. Rest well. My love to your family.

Not a month goes by that we don't speak about you and how much we miss you old friend.

I met Mossie soon after arriving in the San Francisco FBI office in 1975. We had an instant rapport because we both had played and loved sports our whole lives. He was also one of the few other Jewish agents in the office, what I called the "bagel brigade". Mossie was a good friend and I really miss him and his great sense of humor. We spent lots of time together chatting in the office about all kinds of things. He was a joy to be around and had many, many friends.

I will never forget spending time with Marshall in the dugout at our Foul Balls softball games in Menlo Park. He was a true friend and one of the most personable men I have ever met.

I was a childhood friend of Marshall and always looked forward to his interesting group e-mails which often included news from Uniontown where we grew up. My deepest sympathies to his family including his sister Marion.

Having attended the service today, I was reminded of how much joy & laughter Marsh brought to the world. On the occasions when Marsh and I would meet for lunch,when he talked about his family, one thing stood out: not only did he love them, he really, really liked them. He was someone special. God bless you Marsh.

We will always remember with respect and gratitude the endless compassion and friendship Marsh gave our grandparents and family that went above and beyond a great neighbor in Burlingame. Still can remember Marsh throwing and hitting a few balls with Scott aka 'Mr. ScottMan' at Ray Park with Marsh's passion for baseball.

We will always remember Marsh with gratitude, respect and honor as great man, mentor, neighbor, coach and father with compassion who always helped others and made the world a better place.

Marsh's character and kind spirit always left a legacy in every person, team, organization and place that he meet.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, it was an honor to know Marsh.

As a kid growing up I remember playing ball at the Jewish Center baseball field located behind our house every summer evening until dark with half the kids in our neighborhood.
Marsh loved his baseball as some of these other guest book entries attest to. Remember, he got his start in Uniontown with the Cenedella Boys, Miles Cohen, Bortz Brothers, and the pitcher, my father (Bold Ruler) as nicknamed by Mossie.
I speak for all the Cenedellas, Marshall will be missed by ALL who knew him!

Joyce - you probably don't remember me, but I will always remember Marsh with fondness and respect. When we first moved to Burlingame in 1993, my son Andy was lucky enough to be assigned to a Pony League team coached by Marsh, and I was welcomed by Marsh as his assistant coach.

It meant a great deal to me, completely new to the Burlingame baseball scene, to be taken in so warmly, and as an equal, by your husband.

It was an honor to know him. He was a mentor to both me and my son. I will never forget those years of watching Andy and Scott develop as ball players and young men. Marsh was wonderful.

I once asked Marsh if he bought a JUGS pitching machine when Scott was a youngster.
He quick response: "Oh no! I was his pitching machine!" implied years of father-son practices and loving every minute.

Even though we haven't talked in years, I have lost a very dear friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Scott, Bruce & are are saddened to learn of your dear father's death. We watched you pitch Friday night on tv without knowing your personal situation. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Our hearts go out to all of you at this very sad time. There is a special place in Heaven for Uniontown/Brownsville people. They gather together, drinking Rolling Rock, wear Steeler hats and Sweatshirts with a big D on them, and a lot of them talk funny. Marshall is interpreting for out of county guests, and dubbing everyone with a nickname. And everyone instantly loves him! From the Claybaugh Family
