To the Family of Marshall:

I did not know Marshall, but I did attend school at Oak Grove with Onuis and knew their Mother from the Baptist Church in Graton. We lived at 213 Brush St., my family name was Shepherd.
I am saddened by the loss of people that lived where I grew up. I know that your memories are the best at getting you through this hard times.
My prayers are with you and yours.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Marshall could always put a smile on your face and you always knew you were welcome anytime at his and peggy's home. Wayne will always remember watching the giants games with him and Allen. I know Marshall is in heaven celebrating the giants victory with Lishal, another big time giants fan.

Dear Peggy and family,
I became a member of the Jones family when my brother married Janie Jones, I will always remember how all her family took to us younger kids, We loved hanging around with Jones's. Marshall was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor, his wife Peggy is a sweetheart of a person. Now that Marshall has been reunited with his family members who went to heaven before us, we can only be patient...God will call for us when he needs us back. All my love to the family.

My family and I have many fond memories of Marshall and the whole Jones family.A larger and more loving family I have never known. Marshall was always a big tease when younger, and from reading his coworker's entry here, it seems he kept that sense of humor. I'm enclosing a Christmas photo from many years ago. I am the baby Marshall is holding. My heart goes out to all the family.

I can't begin to express how special Uncle Marsh was to me. He loved his FAMILY. What are we going to do without our "Camp Chef"? I loved visiting around the campfire. I will miss him saying "Well Carrie Frances,I think it's COCKTAIL TIME" He was a strong, brave man who fought til the end. I, as well as everyone who knew him will miss him tremendously. He touched so many lives. I LOVE YOU FOREVER!!!!!

Our Longs Family
In 1986 I started working for Longs Drugs which led to working the next 10 years with Marsh. Marsh loved to get a rise out of people. I figured he liked me pretty well because he loved giving me a hard time. I had a couple of nick names through the years; first it was Turkish Boy, then I grew into Meat Man, and then it got shortened to Meat. I would just shake my head or go “what Marsh”. Of course I had a smile or smirk on my face as I knew he was just trying to get a rise out of me.
We had a lot of good times through the years. Lot’s of breakfasts that included hash browns marinated in vegetable oil, and good ole Spam. We also had some great Christmas Parties at some really great places through the years, Napa Golf Club, the Marriott, and the Embassy Suite to name a few.
Like Marsh, I found me a wife at Longs Drugs. She worked for Marsh and he liked to give her a hard time too so I think he liked her. It worked out real good for him, and I guess us too, because now he could give us both a hard time together.
All in good fun, Marsh was a big hearted guy. He was a guy you could count on, and he was a tough guy. He wouldn’t let anything get him down…he was a fighter. I know he fought like no one else through his sickness over the past year. He will be missed and remembered. He was quite a character, we shared many memories together.
My heart and thoughts go out to the Jones Family at this time. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I worked for Marsh starting in 1995 and then he took me and a dozen other employees in year 2000 with him to the old Rite Aid store which was bought by Longs. In those years he was more than just a boss, like family. I have a wonderful picture of Marsh dancing with me on my wedding day.
I had the chance to visit Marsh a few times while he was sick and saw him two weeks ago sitting outside. We chatted mostly about the good times at Longs Drugs. He will be greatly missed, he was a very special man.
