I've thought about my sweet friend so much since I heard he passed. I knew him as "Mike Marshall"...from WHIN...though our paths crossed earlier in high school. He was a Green Wave, I was a Purple Panther...but we had several of the same circle of friends...and best of all...we shared our love for music....Mike played in bands, we called them "combos" back in the day. His band played for my high school prom, though our schools were rivals. We didn't care. We were there for the music. Then 20 years later, he and his buddy/former band mate, Rocky Jones, also were the DJs for our 20th PHS Class Reunion. Mike always had my back. While at WHIN, he promoted my own singing/songwriting career and also supported my son Ben's. Even before that, Mike broadcasted numerous plugs for Ben's quest for a National Brothers and Sisters Day. Mike was all about family. My father-in-law knew him well at the radio station when he would drop off his tapes on Saturday afternoon for his Sunday morning gospel broadcast. They developed a good friendship. My father in law invited Mike to come see his garden and Mike was in awe of the vegetables he gave him. Mike attended his funeral services, I saw his very humble, serious and loving side, called respect. My husband John and I never forgot it.
Mike and I were buddies...I'll miss him forever...he sure was a good guy~~~Prayers for Hollie and his precious family.

Hello Holly and family, so very sorry for your loss.
Actually, I never knew nor met Marshall, but was going thru the obits and couldn't help but read his. What an amazing fella!! I'm certain of this:he will be greatly missed by all who did know him. I'm sorry I never met him.
I know you are all grieving, but hopefully you believe in Christ Jesus, and you have the promise of seeing him again. That in itself brings comfort to so many folks.
Signing off as Wishing I'd Met Marshall
