Marshall B. McPeek, 73, of Alexandria Township, NJ, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, at St. Luke's Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ.
Born Dec. 11, 1943, in Doylestown, PA, Marshall grew up in Upper Black Eddy, PA, before moving to Alexandria Township, NJ, in 1969. He graduated from Palisades High School. While working at Penn Engineering in Perkasie, PA, Marshall enlisted in the Marines. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts. Marshall worked at Riegel Paper Corp. in Milford, NJ, for 35 years before his retirement. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and was an avid NASCAR fan. Later in life, Marshall enjoyed going to Marine Corps reunions around the country. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Marshall was a life member of the Milford Vol. Fire. Company, an exempt member of the NJ State Fireman's Association, and a life member of the Milford VFW.
Son of the late Donald and Leona (Mills) McPeek, Marshall is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Lou, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage in April 2019, his two sons, Craig W. McPeek and his wife, April, and Todd M. McPeek and his wife, Nicole; his daughter, Christina Spitler and her husband, Brian; his sister, Edith McPeek, his eight grandchildren, Dylan, Morgan, Marshall, Domonique, Anthony, Skylar, Emily, and Faith, and his faithful Cocker Spaniel Kallie Ann. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Donald McPeek, Harold McPeek, and Lee McPeek.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. William "Tex" Culton officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Alexandria Township, NJ.
