Marta Glee Schellberg

Marta was such a kind soul and I am grateful to have known her. She always brought kindness and laughter to every situation. May she rest in peace and love. My sincere condolences to Marta´s family, I am so sorry for your loss .

Pastor Marta had a vision and imagination and a dream team that transformed her ideas into reality captivating both children and adults here at EUMC. We will never forget her VBS bible times, Christmas and Easter pageants. She was an amazing person and will be missed. Thank you for your service and dedication. Rest in peace Pastor Marta, always in our hearts.

I´m so grateful to have known Marta. She gave me my first job as her assistant after my stint as a SAHM which led me to my love of graphic design. We worked together on Sunday School curriculum, Vacation Bible School, and the family Christmas Eve services - among many other projects for many years!
I will always remember Marta´s sense of fun and love of life.

Prayer for all affected by lost

Marta was a blessing in my life during our time together at EUMC. I loved her as a pastor and as a devout, loving, resilient, kind, determined woman who loved people--and animals. She was a delight. I attended her introductory session about a plan for a mission trip to Kenya because she asked me to come "just to hear about it"--I had no intention of going. I signed up, astonished by my hasty decision. (Marta did not seem surprised.) Along with the rest of our group, I made a decision I'll never regret. Marta loved serving others and brought her love and bright spirit to all she encountered, at home or far away. Ken, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Joanne Peterson

Marta knew what love and justice are and lived a life promoting both. She made our mission trip to Kenya both fun and productive.

Marta started our Midlife Spirituality Group at EUMC, which is ongoing- we began with a tea she organized and served. She was such a positive force for love and acceptance wherever she went. She loved to dress up in all kinds of costumes and won first prize as a well-dressed woman of the 1920's at one of our YA YA parties where we celebrated the joy of being authentic women. Her wisdom and belief in a benevolent Spirit guided her life and work. But, she also had a wonderful spirit of fun with positive energy and such a big heart. Marta gave to others with generosity, kindness, and genuine love. The world has lost a very special person, and she is already greatly missed. But, she has shared her magical spirit with many others who will continue her special gifts across the ages.

Marta was a very precious gift and a dear friend. Working with her on the Dream Team at EUMC for 5 years [Sunday school programs], bridge playing, leading the Thursday morning Bible Study plus a huge role in my husband's and my faith journey will be in my memories. But her biggest gift was the love she brought to all of us.

I was one of those kids at VBS and EUMC! I remember Marta's energy, enthusiasm, and joy. When I think back on VBS it feels like a magical experience to have as a child, especially the music and the sets. The unleavened bread, the crafts, the tent circles. Wow. I remember that Marta would sometimes wear bright red lipstick and that she deeply loved animals. She truly exuded joy and in my memories she is smiling and laughing. I will remember Pastor Marta fondly. May her memory be a blessing!
