She was a special lady. Mom & I enjoyed working under her at MU Ellis Library. Also, glad that I got to talk about cats with her. She was very helpful with information regarding diabetes in cats & gave great tips on how to give the shots. I could not thank her enough. She will be missed.

Martha helped me so much when I was just starting my librarian career in the early 1980s. Even though she was the university librarian, she went out of her way to encourage me and assist me in my job search. Fortunately, with her help, I landed my dream job, which I still have today! When I think of Martha, I think of her kindness, her intellect, her sense of humor, and her dedication to lifting others up.

Martha sent us book! In fact, Bill and I had a book exchange annually with her. And then we found time to talk about the books. She was an intellectual who loved all kinds of books, as long as they were well-written. She was also a warm and loving person.
