I attended the University of Michigan from 1995-1999. Martha Aliaga was my instructor for Calculus and Statistics. She was a challenge and I loved it. The level of understanding I achieved with her as my instructor was deeper than I had ever achieved before. She selected me to escort high school students to a mathematics convention one year and I was so honored that she thought I was capable. I was thinking of her this evening as I was commenting on an alumni Facebook page about my favorite U of M memories. I was saddened to learn that she was gone.
