POPCHAK – Martha J. (Respet), 86, Richland Township, peacefully passed on to the care of the Lord at home April 18, 2010. Born May 17, 1923, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Prezel) Respet. Preceded in death by husband, Emil B. Popchak; brothers, Otto, Louis (Batch), Rudolph and Jacob Respet; and sisters, Lilian Pietron and Mary Zupan. Survived by children, Marciann, wife of Leonard Marcus; and Joseph and Michael; granddaughter, Jennifer (Marcus) Crivella; great-grandson, Tyler Crivella; brother, Carl (Mick) Respet; and many nieces and nephews. Lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church in Moxham. She enjoyed doing crafts, knitting, crocheting, gardening and baking and cooking for her family and friends. Martha also enjoyed volunteering at Conemaugh Hospital and traveling with Emil and the Retired Men's Club. Honoring Martha's wishes, there will be no viewing. She believed that time was more valuable shared together in life and not in death. The family suggests donations be made to St. Patrick's Church, 609 Park Ave., Johnstown, Pa. 15902, in Martha's memory. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, at St. Patrick's Church, Moxham. Entombment will follow at Grandview Mausoleum. Dear Family,
Your mom fought a valiant battle to the end. And from everything I see, you learned to do the same with a smile on your faces.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
