Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 18, 2024.
On January 24, 2002, Martha Mary Wyman passed away in Port Charlotte Florida. She was 87 years old.

Martha was born in Wishek, North Dakota to Johann Christian Guthmiller and Katherina Guthmiller (Boschee) on December 1, 1914. She was one of five children, having one brother Ted (1911-1981) and three sisters Hilda (1913-1979), Esther (1916-1947), and Lenora (1919-1959). Her mother passed away when Martha was 5 years old. Her father married Pauline Bowman. Martha had step-sisters Catherine and Rosemarie (Sister Grace Therese) and step-brothers Larry and Harold Guthmiller.

Martha moved to Newton County Indiana in 1930 then to the Chicago area in 1935 where she met her future husband, Lincoln Wyman. They were married in 1941 and purchased a home in the southwest suburban area of Chicago on the border of Bridgeview Illinois and Hickory Hills Illinois. They had one daughter, Elaine, and one son, Raymond.

After her marriage, Martha was a homemaker having an avid interest and proficiency for cooking, planting, gardening, sewing, reading, crocheting, knitting, ceramics, and other skills of that era.

Lincoln Wyman, her husband, passed way in 1973. Martha and her son Raymond relocated from the Chicago area to Port Charlotte Florida in 1980 where she resided until she passed away in 2002.

At the time of her passing, Martha was survived by her daughter Elaine Peterson, her son-in-law Robert (Bob) Peterson, her grandsons Wesley and Christian Peterson, her son Raymond Wyman, her step-sister Sister Grace Theresa, and her step-brother Larry Guthmiller.

Martha was laid to rest in a family plot along side her husband Lincoln at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park Illinois. She will be missed by all who knew her.
